ST. LOUIS, MO. – Senior
Jon Mahanay tossed a complete game shutout on Friday, helping the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team to a 10-0 win over Drury in the start of a three-game Great Lakes Valley Conference series.
Mahany, who scattered seven hits, struck out six and walked none, tossed the first shutout of the season for the Tritons.
Records: UMSL (8-30, 7-18 GLVC), Drury (22-19, 15-10 GLVC)
Offensively the Tritons tallied 12 hits, drew four walks and took advantage of four Panther errors.
Senior
Tom DeCero was 2-for-3 with three RBI and also picked up two walks. He had an RBI double in the first and a two-run single in the eighth.
Redshirt junior
Derrick Freeman added two hits and three RBI with those all coming on a bases clearing double in the sixth.
Sophomore
John Hilpert also recorded two hits and two RBI, while redshirt junior
Koltyn Schilly and junior
Jarrett O'Brien finished with two hits and two runs scored each.
