Volleyball Stays Unbeaten With Two More Wins on Saturday

DETROIT, MICH. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team kept its perfect record in tact on Saturday by picking up a pair of 3-0 victories, downing Malone and Ursuline on the final day of the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wayne State.

Seniors Selena Nolte and Kylie Rudsinki and sophomore Charlotte Richards were all named to the All-Tournament team.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tritons tallied 72 digs, with three players reaching double digits, to limit Malone to .094 hitting.
- UMSL earned the set one victory by closing the frame on a 7-2 run after Malone had taken a 19-18 lead on a service ace. The Triton had 17 kills in that set and hit .304.
- UMSL scored the first four points of the final set before increasing the lead to 8-2 on an ace from senior Kylie Rudsinski. A 6-0 run later made it 18-9.
- UMSL hit .252 in the match.
 
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Junior Kaileen Herman tallied 32 assists and 19 digs.
- Sophomore Megan Woll recorded 22 digs, while freshman Alexa Rang had 11.
- Sophomore Charlotte Richards led the offense with 13 kills, while seniors Selena Nolte and Kylie Rudsinski followed with 10 and eight, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tritons hit .340, while limiting Ursuline to .011 hitting.
- Nine different players tallied a kill, while UMSL also held a 7-2 blocking advantage and recorded seven aces.
 
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Rudsinski recorded nine kills and three blocks, while Nolte totaled a match-high 11 kills.
- Herman dished out 34 assists and added eight digs.
- Freshman Raquel Kessler totaled five blocks, while Woll registered 15 digs.
- Rang recorded three service aces.
 
UP NEXT
UMSL is at the Union University Classic in Jackson, Tenn., next Friday and Saturday where they will play four matches.
