SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team posted a 3-0 victory at Academy of Art on Friday afternoon in the 2019 season opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman
Bradley Fritsche scored his first collegiate goal in the 39
th minute, hitting the bottom left corner of the net on a false clearance to help the Tritons to the 1-0 halftime lead.
Senior
Magnus Andersen, who led UMSL in scoring last season, netted his first tally of the season in the 66th minute, while freshman
Will Cytron got in the scoring column in the 85th minute. Andersen was who was assisted by sophomore
Garrett Bass, knocked the ball over the goalkeeper's head and tapped it to the bottom right corner, while Cytron took the pass from freshman
Michael Andrews to the top right of the box, curving the ball into the top left corner.
The Tritons out-shot the Urban Knights, 14-9, including 6-3 in shots on goal.
Academy of Art had a chance to tie the game in the 44th minute, but missed a penalty kick.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Andersen took three shots, landing two on goal, while freshman
Tommy Naumann attempted five shots with two on target.
Redshirt junior
Anton Mukhin played all 90 minutes in goal, registering three saves.
