No. 18 Tritons Shoot Season-High 65 Percent in Rout of Lindenwood

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The No. 18 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team shot a season-high 65.1 percent and had six players in double figures as they rolled past Lindenwood, 103-80, Monday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
 
The Tritons were 10-of-14 from three-point range and dished out a season-high 25 assists on 41 field goals, while turning the ball over just nine times. Their 71.4 percent shooting from three-point range is the sixth highest single game effort in NCAA DII this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL owned a 47-25 halftime advantage behind 57.6 percent shooting and had five players with at least six points in the opening 20 minutes.
 
The Tritons connected at a sizzling 73.3 percent in the second half.

  • Junior Jose Grubbs scored 21 points to go with six rebounds and three assists.
  • Junior Shane Wissink equaled a season-high 16 points and recorded five assists.
  • Redshirt senior Jason Towery (13 points, six rebounds), redshirt sophomore Steve Webb (12 points, five assists, four rebounds, two steals), senior Jalen Wilkins-McCoy (11 points, six rebounds, five assists) and redshirt sophomore Kellen King (11 points) all also scored in double figures.
  • UMSL held a 33-27 rebounding advantage.
  • Lindenwood shot 46 percent, including 57.1 percent in the second half, but made just 9-of-28 three-pointers.
