ST. LOUIS - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team opened its home spring schedule with a 4-3 win over Missouri Western on Friday afternoon.

The Tritons won the doubles point before splitting singles with the Griffons.

Senior Marina Prediger picked up her 78th career singles victory in a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 and is now one win shy of tying the all-time singles wins record.

UMSL returns to the court tomorrow at 11 a.m., hosting Purdue Northwest.
