LIBERTY, MO. –The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team clamped down on defense in the second half, limiting host William Jewell to 17 points and 23.8 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes en route to a 65-52 Great Lakes Valley Conference road win on Sunday afternoon.
The Tritons, returning to the court following a 15-day holiday layoff, overcame an 11-point deficit to garner the victory by tying a season-high 13 steals.
Redshirt junior
Steve Webb collected six of those steals, while also adding a game-high 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
William Jewell took a 35-28 lead into halftime after owning its largest lead of the game at 35-24.
The Tritons used a 9-0 run midway through the second half to take their first lead of the game – and a lead it would not relinquish - at 41-39 with 12:26 to play. UMSL was 4-of-7 from the field during that stretch and picked up three steals, including two from senior
Jose Grubbs.

- Grubbs added 16 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
- Redshirt junior Kellen King followed with 12 points and six rebounds.
- Junior Marty Jackson chipped in 10 points.
- UMSL shot 42.9 percent and owned a 38-34 rebounding advantage.
