ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team opened the season on Friday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Lewis.
The Tritons were playing their first game in 481 days after the season got shifted to the spring because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Junior
Leo Sowa netted the lone goal, scoring in the 35
th minute with the assist to junior
Garrett Bass.
Lewis outshot UMSL 7-2, including 4-0 in the second half. Sowa had both shots for the Tritons, both on goal.
UMSL returns to action on Sunday, hosting Illinois Springfield at 2:30 p.m.
