BOLIVAR, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team fended off a second half rally by Southwest Baptist on Thursday night in recording a 71-65 win and improving to 6-0 on the road this season.
The Tritons led by 18 with 13 minutes to play, but saw the host Bearcats pull within one with just over 90 seconds to go in the game that featured both teams receiving votes in this week's NABC DII Top 25.

Kellen King led UMSL with 18 points, one shy of his career high, knocking down 4-of-5 three-pointers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL owned a 36-25 advantage at the half, after an opening 20 minutes in which they shot 46.7 percent and made 6-of-12 three-pointers.
The Tritons then went up 49-31 with 13:31 remaining, but Southwest Baptist followed with a 23-8 run over the next six minutes to pull within 57-53.
An intentional foul called on UMSL under the two minute mark gave the Bearcats four quick points and made it 66-65 with 1:38 to go. Redshirt junior
Steve Webb then snagged an offensive rebound, scored a bucket and collected a steal in a 17 second span to keep Southwest Baptist at bay.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Junior Marty Jackson added 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while redshirt junior Marquis Collins and senior Shane Wissink added nine points each.
- UMSL shot 46.3 percent, while Southwest Baptist shot 40 percent and held a 29-25 rebounding advantage.
- Webb finished with six points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
- UMSL was 10-of-21 from three-point range and 11-of-13 at the free-throw line.
