Men's Soccer Scores Twice in Shutout of William Jewell

ST. LOUIS – Freshman Jack Meuse and junior Garrett Bass each scored a goal to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over William Jewell on Friday afternoon.

Records: UMSL (2-1-2, 2-1-2 GLVC), William Jewell (1-3-1, 1-3-1 GLVC)

The Tritons took advantage of a free kick just outside the box after a Cardinals player was flagged with a red card in the ninth minute to take the early 1-0 lead. Senior Zach Druhe took the free kick and Meuse picked up the deflection on the left side and put into the back of the net for his first collegiate goal.

Bass added the insurance in the 76th minute with senior Omer Krdzic assisting on the play.

Senior Anton Mukhin recorded his third shutout of the season in goal, having to make just one save as the Tritons limited the Cardinals to three shots.

UMSL took 10 shots, landing six on goal, with Bass and sophomore Bradley Fritsche each taking three shots, including two on goal.
