Softball Bounces Back for Nightcap Win Against Rockhurst

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team bounced back from a 10-0 loss in game one to record a 6-1 victory in the nightcap on Sunday in a doubleheader against visiting Rockhurst.
 
Records: UMSL (10-16, 5-7 GLVC), Rockhurst (12-8, 7-5 GLVC)
 
Game 1: Rockhurst 10, UMSL 0
The Tritons were limited to two hits – two singles from freshman Maddie Snemis.
 
The Hawks recorded 11 hits, including three home runs.
 
Game 2: UMSL 6, Rockhurst 1
Sophomore Annie Scaramuzzi picked up her first win of the season in the circle behind a career-high eight strikeouts. She allowed just one run on four hits and didn't issue any walks.
 
Offensively, the Tritons got two-run home runs from sophomore McKenzie Lamos and junior Corinne Daley and finished with five hits.
 
Up Next
UMSL will host Indianapolis on Saturday in a Noon doubleheader.
