EVANSVILLE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost a 7-6 decision at Southern Indiana Thursday night in the start of a four-game GLVC series. The Screaming Eagles walked it off with a two-run single to a cap a three-run ninth inning to garner the win.
The series continues tomorrow at 2 p.m. with a doubleheader.
Records: UMSL (5-15, 3-10 GLVC), Southern Indiana (8-11, 6-7 GLVC)
How It Happened:
- UMSL scored three runs on three hits in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead. Clayton Stephens tied it with an RBI single, while John Hilpert recorded his second RBI single to make it 3-2.
- Southern Indiana tied it at 4-4 in the sixth before Matt DiMemmo and Jared Bryant each had a two-out RBI single in the seventh inning for a 6-4 advantage.
- The Screaming Eagles brought five batters to the plate in the ninth, drawing two walks and tallying two hits.
