LEBANON, ILL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team ended the regular season with two losses at McKendree on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats posted shutout victories of 8-0 and 3-0.
The Tritons will now await results from around the league tomorrow to see if they've earned a spot in next weekend's GLVC Tournament.
Records: UMSL (19-23, 14-14 GLVC), McKendree (23-11, 20-8 GLVC)
Game 1: McKendree 8, UMSL 0
The Bearcats scored eight runs on 13 hits, including six doubles. They owned a 6-0 lead after two innings, scoring three each in the first and second frames.
UMSL recorded seven hits, including two from freshman
Maddie Snemis, while sophomores
McKenzie Lamos and
Jenna Towle each tallied a double.
Junior
Mimi Bradley suffered the loss. Of the eight runs allowed, five were earned. She also struck out five and walked three.
Game 2: McKendree 3, UMSL 0
The Tritons were limited to just two hits, including a double from freshman
Haley Remington. Junior
Corinne Daley also recorded a hit and drew a walk.
McKendree's Miranda Gajewski recorded 12 strikeouts.
Towle took the loss, allowing all three runs on six hits in five innings. She struck out five and issued no walks.
