EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams started off their season at the St. Louis Show-Case on Saturday. UMSL placed in the top-three in 14 events.
The women's 200 meter medley relay team of
Franziska Hauptmann,
Zara Konstapel,
Kristen Stalder, and
Serena Brizard finished in second place with a time of 2:08.43 to start the meet off for the Tritons. The men's 200 meter medley relay of
Jon Osa,
Austin Stevenson,
Conley Savage and
Aiden Clark followed up with a second place finish clocking in at 1:49.54.
Zara Konstapel won the women's 50 meter breaststroke with a time of 35.94 seconds.
Conley Savage took third place with a time of 26.63 seconds in the men's 50 meter butterfly.
Sergio Santisteban Romero placed third in the men's 200 meter IM with a time of 2:17.82. Santisteban Romero also finished third in the men's 400 meter freestyle with a time of 4:29.59. The senior finished third in the men's 50 meter backstroke as well with a time of 29.16 seconds.
Rebecca Bechtel and
Stephanie Schoemans placed second and third respectively in the women's 400 meter freestyle. Bechtel finished at 4:56.32 followed by Schoemans at 5:15.56.
The women's 500 meter freestyle relay of
Serena Brizard,
Kristen Stalder,
Franziska Hauptmann, and
Rebecca Bechtel clocked in at 5:43.08 for a third place finish.
Aiden Clark,
Jon Osa,
Guillem Masjuan Roca, and
Sergio Santisteban Romero finished second in the men's 500 meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:54.22.
Natalie Arthur placed third in the women's 50 meter backstroke with a time of 33.99 seconds.
Austin Stevenson and
Ryan Clark tied for third place in the men's 50 meter breaststroke with a time of 32.28 seconds.
To end the meet, the Tritons finished second in the mixed 200 meter freestyle relay. The team of
Jon Osa,
Aiden Clark,
Kristen Stalder, and
Franziska Hauptmann finished with a time of 1:45.69.
