Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Tritons used a second-half surge en route to the 87-66 final at home Saturday afternoon against the Quincy Hawks.
The win advances the Tritons' record to 12-4 overall and 6-3 in the GLVC.
Marty Jackson exploded with purpose -- putting up a double-double with his 30 points and 10 rebounds.
Steve Webb rolled with 13 and
Jose Grubbs -- who recently exceeded 1,000 career points in UMSL red -- added 11.
Yaakema Rose tossed in nine, as did
Trever Moore.
Myles Cephas entered the game late and connected for back-to-back 3-pointers -- igniting a spark from the Tritons' bench.
Shane Wissink added five points and tossed in four assists.
Marquis Collins and
Isaiah Fuller had two each.
The paint was full of residents as the Tritons netted an astounding 60 points in the paint as Jackson took over the flow.
There were four lead changes and the Tritons lead 39-31 with 20 minutes to go, where it was equal opportunity for the defense, which forced 20 turnovers total.
The Tritons are off until Thursday when they visit Rockhurst.
