ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The national attention paid to UMSL's back-to-back GLVC Player of the Year
Charlotte Richards continues.
Richards has been named a GLVC Fall Scholar Athlete for the fall term.
The outside hitter helped lead the Tritons to an appearance in the GLVC title match and the NCAA Tournament just a season ago, accumulating a 25-9 record and starting in all 34 games.
Richards led the country in total kills (569) and total attacks (1,704) while also leading the league in points (615) on her way to being named an AVCA first-team All-American and D2CCA first-team All-American.
Majoring in supply chain management at UMSL, the phenom finished the semester with a 3.95 GPA and was a recipient of the Coonrod Scholarship, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Richards will return to the court this fall while she works on her master's degree.
Other recipients from the GLVC include Cooper Callis (SBU football); Noah Hufnagel (USI cross country); Jennifer Camastri (USI women's cross country); Dimitrios Karousos (UIndy men's soccer); and Dana Youssef (UIndy women's soccer).
