CHICAGO – The No. 21 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's swimming team recorded four NCAA Division II B cuts and broke a school record on Friday on the first day of competition at the University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic.
Conley Savage and
Guillem Masjuan Roca notched B-cuts in the 200 individual medley. Savage finished second overall in the event with a time of 1:50.00 while Masjuan Roca was fourth at 1:50:43.
The Tritons took three of the top four spots in the 50 free with
Jon Osa winning the race with a time of 20.35 to earn a B-cut.
Austin Stevenson and
David Reynolds tied for second with a time of 20.70.
Aiden Clark was tied for 18th at 21:28.
The 200 free relay quartet of Stevenson, Reynolds, A. Clark and Osa won the event with a school record and B-cut time of 1:20:48 while the team of
Ryan Clark,
Davis Donicht, Savage and
Ethan Boehle were eighth in a time of 1:25.28.
Aaron Wicklund took fourth in the 500 free with a time of 4:40.26, Donicht finished ninth at 4:41.12 and
Mason Stimson came in 10th at 4:44.05.
The 400 medley relay team of Masjuan Roca, Stevenson, Savage and Osa finished second in a time of 3:16.98 while the foursome of
Ryan Conner, Elliot Labeau, William Nickel and Reynolds was sixth at 3:24.37. The quartet of
Dawson Norton, Wicklund, Boehle and
Spencer Hyatt finished 13th at 3:29.65.
The Phoenix Fall Classic continues on Saturday with the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 800 free relay.
