CHICAGO – The 21st ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's swimming team achieved three B-Cuts, two school records and seven top 10 finishes on the final day of the Phoenix Fall Classic in Chicago.
Jon Osa won the 200 back with a B-cut time of 1:45.68 and narrowly missed breaking the school record set by
Guillem Masjuan Roca with a time of 1:45.36. Masjuan Roca took fourth in the event at 1:50.97.
Conley Savage was second in the 200 fly with a B-cut and school record time of 1:47.44 while
Will Nickel was fifth at 1:51.88 and
Ethan Boehle took ninth at 1:55.89.
Malcolm Hunter finished 20th at 1:58.29.
Aaron Wicklund took sixth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:04.74 while
Ryan Clark and
Elliot LaBeau were 12th and 15th at 2:08.92 and 2:09.47 respectively.
The 400 free relay squad of Osa ,
Austin Stevenson,
David Reynolds and
Aiden Clark finished second with a B-cut and school record time of 2:59.23. The quartet of Masjuan Roca,
Ryan Clark,
Sergio Santisteban and
Davis Donicht came in eighth at 3:07.49. The foursome of Boehle, Nickel,
Ryan Conner and Wickland finished 12th at 3:08.68.
In the 100 free, it was Stevenson leading the way with a 10th place finish at 47.06 while A. Clark was 12th in a time of 46.44 seconds and Reynolds was 13th at 46.56 seconds.
Mason Stimson and Santisteban were 14th and 16th in the 1650 free with times of 16:48.58 and 17:02.90 respectively.
The Tritons return to the pool on Friday (Dec. 16) hosting Missour S&T, Maryville and Quincy in a quadangular at 5 p.m. at the UMSL Swimming Pool.
