SEATTLE – University of Missouri-St. Louis outside hitter
Charlotte Richards was named a First Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association this week.
It's the third time in her career she's been named to the AVCA's All-America team. She was a second team selection in 2019 and earned first team honors last year. She also earned second team All-America honors last year from the D2CCA.
Richards, the GLVC and AVCA Midwest Region Player of the Year, leads the Tritons and the GLVC in kills with 450, points (516) and points per set (4.73). She is second in the conference in kills per set with 4.13 and aces per set at 0.42. Richards won three GLVC Player of the Week awards this season with two coming on the offensive side (Sept. 12 and Oct. 10) and one on the defensive side (Nov. 7).
UMSL, seeded seventh, takes on Barry, seeded second, in a NCAA Quarterfinal on Thursday (Dec. 1) at 4:30 p.m. (CST).
