The UMSL Tritons softball team defeated Wayne State College, 9-7, before falling 20-1 against Arkansas Tech Friday in the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville, Ark.
Against Wayne, those in attendance were treated to extra softball, as
McKenzie Lamos connected for the round-tripper in the bottom of the seventh, plating two runs. Lamos finished the game with 4 RBI.
Megan Brown added 2.
Irene Travis drove in a run, as did
Morgan Barnoski. Starting hurler
Annie Scaramuzzi also drove in one run.
Mimi Bradley was credited with the win (1-0).
If resolve was a question going into the game, that question has been answered.
Character was front and center as the Tritons fell behind off the bat, battling back from a 4-0 deficit after the opening frame.
Again, question answered.
