ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- It was another slow start Saturday for the UMSL Tritons (20-3, 16-2).
But it also was a fast start in the third quarter en route to the 67-56 win over Lindenwood.
The Tritons led 32-31 at half, as
Mallory Ronshausen and
Jalysa Stokes's late 3-pointers gave the host the narrow advantage.
UMSL came out in the third and controlled the paint, as
Alex LaPorta and
Kiara Stewart were fed ... and fed some more.
LaPorta added another rebound to her credit as time expired in the third as she finished with the put-back just before the buzzer.
LaPorta led the team with her 14 points.
UMSL hosts Southern Indiana at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24.
