Tritons Named Six Seed in Midwest Regional

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball has been selected to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Midwest Regional Tournament. UMSL will travel to Ashland, Ohio where Ashland University will act as the host of the Midwest Region.
 
UMSL is the sixth seed in the Midwest. The Tritons last received an NCAA Tournament bid in 2013-14.
 
The Tritons will play the third seed Drury University in the first round of the tournament. The Tritons are 1-1 against Drury this season. UMSL defeated DU 75-65 at home on Feb. 4. The Panthers eliminated the Tritons in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Semifinals 64-54 en route to winning the GLVC Championship.
 
Top-seeded Ashland will face eight seed Ferris State University in the first round of the Midwest Regional.
 
Grand Valley State University earned the second seed in the Midwest and will face the seventh seed, Wayne State University, in the first round.
 
Walsh was picked as the fourth seed. They will face the fifth-seeded University of Southern Indiana to start the tournament.

The Midwest Regional will start Friday, Mar. 11.
