ST. LOUIS, MO. – The 6
th Annual The Louies, honoring UMSL student-athletes and their achievements from the 2021-22 season was held on Wednesday, April 27.
Award winners included:
Team Highest GPA: Women's Tennis (women's team); Men's Tennis (men's team)
Strength & Conditioning: Natalie Arthur (women's swimming) and
Kameron Laskowski (baseball)
Breakthrough Performance: Annie Scaramuzzi (softball) improved from a 4-5 record in her first two seasons to an 11-5 record with a 1.78 ERA this season.
Ultimate Triton: Yaakema Rose Jr. (men's basketball)
Comeback Performance of the Year: Men's Basketball overcomes an 18-0 deficit to win GLVC Championship
Top Individual Performance by a Male: Joel Sylven (men's golf) won the Findlay Invitational with a school record of 10-under after shooting rounds of 67, 71, and 68
Top Individual Performance by a Female: Zara Konstapel (women's swimming) finished 7th in the 100 meter breaststroke with a school record at the NCAA Championships to earn First Team All-American honors
Top Moment: (Tie) Men's Basketball winning the program's first GLVC Championship and Women's Soccer upsetting top-seeded McKendree in the GLVC Tournament to become the first eight seed to win a tournament game.

Outstanding Freshman Male Student-Athlete: Ben Beier (baseball)
Outstanding Freshman Female Student-Athlete: Tove Brunell (women's golf)
Outstanding Sophomore Male Student-Athlete: (Tie) Conley Savage (men's swimming) and Jacob Warner (cross country/track and field)
Outstanding Sophomore Female Student-Athlete: Maddie Snemis (softball)
Outstanding Junior Male Student-Athlete: Jon Osa (men's swimming)
Outstanding Junior Female Student-Athlete: McKenzie Lamos (softball)
Outstanding Senior Male Student-Athlete: (Tie) Brandon Olion (baseball) and Marty Jackson (men's basketball)
Outstanding Senior Female Student-Athlete: Charlotte Richards (volleyball)
The graduating student-athletes were also gifted a sash with "student-athlete" embroidered to be worn at their upcoming graduation.
