ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams competed against Washington University in St. Louis on Friday evening at Millstone Pool on the Wash U. campus.
The host Bears defeated both the men (136-78) and women (158-73).
The UMSL men won four events with
Austin Stevenson picking up wins in the 50 free and 100 breast. Stevenson posted a time of 21.03 in the 50 free and 58.43 in the 100 breast. The Tritons 200 medley relay team of Stevenson,
Ryan Conner,
Conley Savage and
David Reynolds won the event in a time of 1:33.54 while the 200 free relay team of Reynolds,
Jon Osa,
Ethan Boehle and
Guillem Masjuan Roca won the race in a time of 1:25.55.
The UMSL women also won four events with
Ava Boehning winning individual events and the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams picking up victories. Boehning won the 50 free in a time of 24.65 seconds and the 100 free at 54.47 seconds. The Triton 200 medley relay team of
Kate Nelson,
Zara Konstapel,
Kristen Stalder and
Madison Bottorff took the top spot in a time of 1:50.58 while the 200 free relay quartet of Boehning, K. Nelson,
Franziska Hauptmann and
Sarah Nelson won with a time of 1:39.30.
The Tritons return to the pool on Friday (Jan. 20) as they travel over to O'Fallon, Ill., to take on McKendree in a dual meet at 2 p.m. at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.
