ST. LOUIS – The third ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team swept Quincy in its final home match of the regular season on Saturday afternoon at the Mark Twain Building. With the win, the Tritons (26-0, 11-0 GLVC) clinched a share of the GLVC regular season title and the number one seed in the GLVC Tournament (Nov. 17-19) in Williamsville, Ill.
UMSL never trailed in the opening stanza as it hit .243 with 12 kills against three errors in 37 chances and was led by redshirt-senior
Delaney Humm with four kills. The Tritons led by as many as nine in the stanza taking the opener 25-16.
UMSL raced out to a 5-0 lead in the middle frame and didn't let the Hawks (23-3, 9-2 GLVC) get closer than three the rest of the stanza as it cruised to a 25-17 victory. The Tritons hit .343 in the set with 16 kills against four errors in 35 swings. Fifth-year senior
Lexie Rang had six of those kills while Humm and fifth-year senior
Mya Elliott had four kills each.
UMSL trailed for the first time in the match to start set three but quickly erased the deficit and eventually built a nine-point lead. Quincy clawed their way back scoring six straight points to get within 19-16. The Tritons got back-to-back points from fifth-year senior
Hailey Flowers and Rang to push its lead back to five at 21-16.
The Hawks wouldn't go quietly cutting UMSL's lead to 24-23 after a kill from Susanna Beretti but was unable to even the set as Humm knocked home her 13th kill of the contest to give the Tritons a 25-23 victory to complete the sweep.
UMSL hit .306 in the contest with 47 kills against 13 errors in 111 chances. Humm had a match-high 13 kills while Rang and Elliott added 12 and 10 kills respectively. Junior

Caitlin Bishop handed out 39 assists, Rang finished with four blocks and senior
Kylie Adams had a match-high 13 digs.
The Triton defense held Quincy to a .162 attack percentage with 37 kills against 19 errors in 111 chances. The Hawks were led by Beretti with 12 kills and 12 digs. Brianna Merkel added 34 assists, Alice Pavan finished with four blocks.
UMSL wraps up the regular season next weekend with a trip to southwest Missouri to take on Drury. The Tritons and Panthers will play at 6 p.m. next Friday in Springfield, Mo., at the O'Reilly Family Events Center.
