Rang Named Second Team Academic All-American

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis fifth-year senior outside hitter Lexie Rang has been named to the 2023 Academic All-America® Division II Volleyball Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators. She is the 22nd student-athlete in UMSL Athletic history to earn Academic All-America honors.

Rang is the third player in program history to receive the honor joining Danielle Waedekin (2017) and Charlotte Richards (Spring 2021 and 2022).

Rang graduated with her bachelor's degree in nursing and finished her career with a 3.87 grade point average.

Rang, a second team D2CCA and third team AVCA All-American, helped lead the Tritons to a 34-2 record,  an undefeated regular season, including 13-0 in the GLVC, a GLVC regular season championship, a second straight Midwest Regional title and second consecutive appearance in the national semifinals.

She led UMSL's offensive attack with 514 kills and averaged 4.28 kills per set. Her 514 kills led the GLVC, are sixth most in a single season in school history and was ninth best in Division II. She had the third most kills per set in the conference and 16th in Division II. Her 1,449 attack attempts were third most in Division II.

Rang finished her Triton career with 1,051 kills, 1,489 digs and 170 service aces. She ranks fourth all-time in program history in digs and service aces and ninth in kills. Her 3,112 attack attempts are seventh best in school history.

She recently signed a contract to play professionally with Deportivo Soan located in Comas, Peru in the Peruvian League.
