ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional by winning their first conference title in program history on Saturday. The Tritons will be the sixth seed and take on No. 3 seed Grand Valley State in a first-round contest this Friday (Nov. 22) at 10 a.m. at the Maryville Soccer Field at Maryville University.
Maryville, seeded second, will host seventh seeded McKendree in the other first round contest on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.. The winners of those two games will play in a second-round contest on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Ashland University received the No. 1 seed in the region and will host the other regional. Fifth seeded Drury and fourth seeded Northern Michigan will meet in a first-round contest on Friday at Ashland with the winner of that game taking on the Eagles on Sunday.
UMSL is making its fifth appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament and its first since 2016.
The Tritons are 14-3-3 overall on the season and the 14 wins are third best in a season in school history and the most since the 2016 team won 13 games.
