EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team's 2024 season came to an end with an 8-0 in five innings to McKendree on Saturday in an elimination game at the GLVC Tournament at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria, Ill.
The Bearcats (35-21) struck first scoring three runs on four hits in the first inning highlighted by Olivia Stansbury's two-run double to center.
McKendree added single tallies in the second and third innings and put up another three spot in the fourth courtesy of two walks with the bases loaded and an RBI single from Sarah Roth.
The Tritons were held to just two hits in the contest as
McKenzie Lamos broke up Paige McAllister's no-hit bid with two out in the fourth and
Katie Schaake added a two-out double in the fifth.
Ashley Borowitz took the loss giving up five runs on seven hits in three innings pitched to finish the season with a record of 14-16.
UMSL ends the season with a record of 28-26 including 14-12 in the GLVC.
