SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team was edged by Rockhurst 4-2 in its GLVC Tournament Quarterfinal contest on Friday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.

The Tritons took two of the three doubles matches to win the opening point of the dual as the No. 1 team of Anna Domingo and Maja Lietzau beat Sofia Valdespino and Marina Magai 6-2 and the No. 2 duo of Hannah Tse and Aleksandra Lopez defeated Ella Coleman and Zuzanna Szmyd 6-4.

The Hawks (15-6) won the first two singles matches as Coleman beat Domingo 6-0, 6-1 in straight sets and Magai defeated Lietzau 7-5, 6-4. Tse evened the match at 2-2 defeating Valdespino 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 but Rockhurst got wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles to clinch the match. Szmyd beat Lopez in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 and Maria Baez defeated Lauren Sweeney 7-5, 6-3.

UMSL finishes its season with a record of 11-9 including 4-1 in GLVC play.
