ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis had 14 teams recognized as recipients for the 2023-24 Team Academic All-GLVC award, as announced by the league office on Monday (June 24). The 14 Triton teams recognized ties the school record which was set during the 2020-21 season.
The GLVC recognizes each team from member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year. In all, there were 182 men's and women's teams from across the league to earn the honor.
Those UMSL teams included women's tennis (3.76), volleyball (3.70), women's golf (3.67), women's cross country (3.63), men's golf (3.59), softball (3.54), women's soccer (3.50), men's tennis (3.47), men's cross country (3.46), women's basketball (3.44), women's track and field (3.44), men's track and field (3.38), women's swimming and diving (3.35) and men's swimming and diving (3.33).
Of the 182 honored programs, 120 came from women's sports and 62 from the men's side.
Three league sports – women's soccer (14), softball (14) and women's swimming and diving (10) – saw every team above the 3.30 mark. Among the other notables, women's cross country (13), women's golf (12), women's lacrosse (7), women's tennis (11), women's track & field (13), and volleyball (13) had all but one program meet the threshold; while women's bowling (4) had all but two snag the honor.
