KANSAS CITY – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team had four student-athletes named to the 2023-24 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court this week. The list recognizes those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
Those honored Tritons include juniors
Emanuel Prospere II (business) and
Savon Wykle (sport management) and seniors
Sam Bledsoe (business) and
Mayson Quartlebaum (international business).
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior, senior or graduate student player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA)of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2021-22academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
In addition, the Tritons were also recognized with the NABC Team Academic Excellence award which is given to teams who finished the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
