LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team has been honored with the 2023-24 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
UMSL earns the honor for the 14th time since the award originated in 1992-93 and have been recognized for the 10th straight year under head coach
Ryan Young who just completed his 13th season.
The Tritons finished the academic year with a 3.70 cumulative grade point average and earned the additional distinction of being named to the Team Academic Honor Roll which celebrates programs in the top 20% of GPAs for their division.
On the court, UMSL finished the 2023 season with a 34-2 record, won the GLVC regular season title with a 13-0 mark, hosted and won the Midwest Regional and advanced to the national semifinals of the Division II Volleyball Championships. The Tritons had three players named All-American with
Caitlin Bishop and
Delaney Humm earning first team Accolades while
Lexie Rang was a third team selection.
