ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team fell to Maryville 5-2 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
The Saints won all three doubles matches to win the opening point of the match.
Percy Siercke and
Daniel Berdecio fell to Michael Delaloye and Diego Alvarez 6-1 in the first doubles contest.
Joan Garros and
Henry Roberts lost to Jack Quilty and Markos Prentits 6-1 and
Bautista Rooney and
Jose Yañez 6-1.
Berdecio got the Tritons on the board as he defeated Lorenzo Biava in straight sets 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Roberts followed it up with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the third singles contest. Maryville won the final four singles matches to clinch the match. Siercke lost to Delaloye 6-3, 6-1, Garros fell to Quilty 3-6, 7-5, 0-1, Yañez lost to Maksim Chemogorov 6-2, 6-3 and
Andrea Ricart was defeated by Prentits 6-2, 6-2.
UMSL wraps up the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule next Sunday (Oct. 19) hosting Missouri Valley at 4 p.m. at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
