ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a 6-1 win over Missouri Valley on Sunday afternoon at Dwight Davis Tennis Center. The Tritons are 1-2 on the season.
UMSL won all three doubles matches to take the opening point of the dual.
Percy Siercke and
Daniel Berdecio defeated Alex Ballinger and Gui Silva 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. In the second doubles contest it was
Henry Roberts and
Joan Garros beat Richard Tasev and Bogdan Zakharov 6-2. In the final doubles contest it was
Andrea Ricart and
Jose Yañez defeating Pablo Perez and Luca Stadifeld 6-3.
In singles play, Siercke handed Ballinger a 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 defeat at No. 1 singles. Berdecio knocked off Zakharov 6-2, 6-1 in the second singles contest and Roberts rallied for a three-set win over Silva 0-6, 6-3, 10-8. Garros beat Tasev 6-2, 7-5, Yañez fell to Vicente Leigh in three sets 2-6, 6-0, 8-10 and Ricart knocked off Stadifeld in three sets 7-5, 2-6, 10-6.
The Tritons resume their schedule in February taking on Saint Louis University on February 8 at 2:30 p.m.
