ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team dropped the series finale to Rockhurst 14-10 at the UMSL Baseball Field on Sunday afternoon. The Tritons fall to 22-19, 11-13 GLVC while the Hawks improve to 19-16, 9-11 GLVC.
Rockhurst jumped on top with three runs in the first as Andrew Loeffelman and Drew Cornelison each had RBI singles and Loeffelman scored the third run on a balk.
UMSL tied it in the home half of the first.
Mitch Bonczkowski drove in two with a double and
Barrett Rose added an RBI single to tie it at 3-3.
The Hawks retook the lead with three in the second. Matthew Brimacombe brought home Patrick Wind with a triple to right center and Michael Laudando and Loeffelman each had RBI singles.

Garrett Strenger to make it 6-4. Bonczkowski hit a solo home run in the fourth to cut the deficit to 6-5.
Rockhurst regained its three-run lead in the sixth as Loeffelman and Cornelison both walked with the bases loaded to force in a run.
UMSL scored five runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 10-8 lead.
Braedon Stoakes hit a two-run home run to left center to make it 8-7 and Bonczkowski followed with a solo home run to left to tie it at 8. Strenger put the Tritons on top with a single up the middle scoring Rose and
Cade Grevengoed.
Down to their final three outs, the Hawks sent 11 batters to the plate in the ninth scoring six runs on six hits. Brimacombe tied the game with a two-run single to left center. Laudando followed with a two-run single through the right side and Adonis Forte capped the inning with a two-run home run to left.
The Tritons finished with 14 hits in the contest and were led by Bonczkowski and Polly with three each while Stoakes, Grevengoed and Strenger had two apiece.
Will Johnson took the loss giving up four runs on five hits in 2.1 innings with three strikeouts to fall to 2-1.
UMSL continues its eight-game homestand on Thursday (April 17) hosting Upper Iowa at 2 p.m. at the UMSL Baseball Field.
