INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team had its two-game win streak snapped with a 4-0 loss to No. 17 UIndy at the UIndy Tennis Center on Friday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Tritons fall to 9-7, 2-1 GLVC while the Greyhounds improve to 14-3, 2-0 GLVC.
UIndy won two of the three doubles contests to win the opening point of the match. It's number two team of Tadeo Gaggiofatto and Asier Ayllon Prado beat
Tanin Ramnath and
Daniel Berdecio 6-2 while the number three team of Lorenzo Di Cursi and Manu Lanteri defeated
Henry Roberts and Joan Garros 6-3.
In singles action,
Alejandro Ley fell to David Simeonov in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at number one singles. Lanteri defeated Ramnath 6-2, 6-3 at number two singles and in the third singles match it was Prado beating
Percy Siercke 6-3, 6-3. The final three singles matches went unfinished.
UMSL returns to the courts on Saturday (April 19) taking on McKendree at 12:30 p.m. at the St. Clair Tennis Club in O'Fallon, Ill.
