ST. LOUIS – The No. 21 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team wrapped up its season with a 14th place finish with a final team score of 880 (295-291-294) at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships on Thursday afternoon at Desert Run Coyote Course at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
The Tritons were led by
Wilma Zanderau who shot a final round score of 70 to finish the championships at four under par with a score of 212 (71-71-70).
Emmy Wahl had the second-best round of the day for UMSL shooting a 71 to finish with a 54-hole score of 225 (78-76-71).
Mayan Covarrubias and
Hillary Currier shot rounds of 76 and 77 respectively while
Juliette Lecomte shot an 81. Covarrubias finished with a score of 226 (77-73-76) while Currier was at 223 (74-72-77) and Lecomte shot a 229 (73-75-81).
Cal State San Marcos's Madison Murr was the individual medalist with a 54-hole score of 202 (69-64-69) and won by three shots over Dallas Baptist's Gracie Grant.
DBU won the stroke play portion of the event finishing with a total team score of 846 (285-282-279) to earn the number one overall seed for the match play portion of the championship which begins on Friday.
