ST. LOUIS – The No. 26 University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team shot a 299 on Wednesday to finish 17th out of 20 teams with a final total team score of 901 (307-295-299) at the NCAA Championships at PGA National – The Champions in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Logan Mayo shot a 71 in the final round to finish the championships with a score of 218 (74-73-71) and finished 26th overall in the event.
Leo Baudry shot a 74 in his round finishing with a score of 229 (81-74-74) while
Dani Solavera turned in a scorecard of 76 finishing at 228 (80-72-76).
Benjamin Berger and
Trigg Lindahl finished with scores of 78 and 83 respectively. Berger had a final total score of 232 (77-77-78) and Lindahl was at 235 (76-76-83).
North Georgia's Hunter Smith was the individual national champion finishing with a 54-hole score of 210 (71-67-72) winning by one shot over Florida Southern's Colton Swartz, Lee's Drew Zielinski, Wingate's Brandon Skidmore and Colorado Christian's Sangha Park.
Colorado Christian won the stroke play portion of the championships with a total team score of 856 (291-285-278) edging out West Florida by two shots who finished at 858 (290-282-286). The Cougars earned the top seed in the match play portion of the championships and will take on eighth seeded Oklahoma Christian in a quarterfinal contest starting on Thursday. Other match play contests are as follows: No. 2 West Florida takes on No. 7 St. Mary's (Texas), No. 3 Missouri S&T will face No. 6 Wingate and No. 4 Florida Southern will meet No. 5 North Georgia.
