MARIAN, Ill. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team loves living on the edge as it trailed UIndy 7-2 with nine outs to play but scored eight unanswered runs in its final three at-bats to rally for a 10-7 win over the Greyhounds on Friday afternoon at Mtn Dew Park in Marion, Ill.
The Tritons improve to 29-22 and advance to Saturday's semifinal round where they'll meet Missouri S&T at 9 a.m. at Mtn Dew Park. The Miners defeated Quincy 7-6 in an elimination game on Friday afternoon. The Hounds (30-21) will play Drury in an elimination game at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
UMSL took an early lead with two runs in the first. With one out and runners on the corner
Andrew Buescher lined a single down to right field line scoring

Mitch Bonczkowski scored on the play as Luke Smock committed an error trying to pick up the ball.
The Tritons had a chance to extend their lead in the second but
Barrett Rose was robbed of extra bases and two RBI with a great diving catch in left center by Austin Bode.
UIndy's first run scored in the third as
Cooper Blythe dropped a fly ball in left that allowed Easton Good to score from second. The Hounds took the lead in the fourth thanks to another UMSL error that lead to two runs.
UIndy got a three-run home run from Brayton Bowen in the fifth to make it 6-2. The Hounds final run came in the sixth as Chase Mason singled up the middle scoring Smock.
The Triton comeback began in the seventh as Rose singled to left to bring home
Dane Stevenson. Buescher followed with a double down the left field line scoring
Owen Polly. UMSL cut the deficit to 7-5 as
Cade Grevengoed scored on a wild pitch.
The Tritons tacked on three more in the eighth as Stoakes brought home
Noah Tomaras with a single to first. Stevenson scored on a sacrifice fly to right center to tie the game at 7. Stoakes stole second and third and scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
UMSL's final two runs came in the ninth. Stevenson brought home Grevengoed with a single to left and Blythe scored on fielder's choice groundout to second.
The Tritons finished with 19 hits in the contest and were led by Stoakes and Stevenson with four each while Grevengoed added three more. Rose and Buescher had two RBI apiece.
Will Johnson, the UMSL's third pitcher in the contest, got the win pitching 1.1 of scoreless relief work to improve to 3-1.
Dustin Hagens pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up his first save of the season.
