Findlay, Ohio – University of Missouri-St. Louis junior golfer
Mayan Covarrubias earned medalist honors as she won the Beall Fall Classic hosted by the University of Findlay with a score of 216 (66-72-78) on Tuesday afternoon at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. As a team the Tritons finished in third place with a total team score of 915 (301-305-309).
Covarrubias won the event by five strokes over Findlay's Ellie Yeazell and earned her second career win which is tied for eighth in school history.
Hillary Currier finished in a tie for 17th with a score of 230 (76-78-76),
Sarah Cuney shot a 233 (79-77-77) to finish in a tie for 26th and
Emmy Wahl, competing as an individual, posted a score of 234 (78-77-79) to finish tied for 28th.
Alaina Ervin had a total score of 238 (80-80-78) and
Hope Williams shot a 242 (82-78-82).
Findlay won the team title with a total team score of 897 (297-295-305).
UMSL is back in action starting on Monday (Oct. 19)-Wednesday (Oct. 21) at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin at Mystic Rock Golf Course in Farmington, Pa.
