Tritons Record Six Top Eight Finishes On Second Day of GLVC Championship Meet

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming combined to record six top eight finishes on the second day of the 2026 PNC Bank Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind.

The Triton women are in third place with 252 points while the UMSL men are in seventh place with 150 points.

Justice Beard started the evening session off with a bang winning the 1,000-yard freestyle for the second time in her career in a school record time of 9:49.78. It was her fourth career conference title. Libby Smith finished third in the 1,000 free at 10:22.08 and Chiara Alberola came in 21st with a time of 11:03.15.

Audrey Lantz broke the school record in the 50-yard freestyle in Wednesday's morning preliminary race with a time of 23.01 seconds to earn the second seed for the evening final. She finished third in the championship final with a time of 23.27 seconds. Madison Bottorff, Ella Lantz and Kelsey Roth finished third, fourth and eighth in the bonus final with times of 24.31 seconds, 24.52 seconds and 24.81 seconds respectively.

The Tritons 200-yard medley relay quartet of E. Lantz, Stella Garrison, A. Lantz and Romina Itzkovich finished third overall in a time of 1:42.79.

Itzkovich also finished third in the consolation final of the 200-yard individual medley at 2:06.40.

For the men, Lathan Parks finished seventh overall in the 50 free with a time of 20.34 improving on his seed time of 20.50 by 0.16 seconds. Gabriel Wells came in eighth place in the consolation final of the 50 free at 20.69 seconds.

Mattia Nardi and Aaron Wicklund finished sixth and seventh in the consolation final of the 200 IM with times of 1:50.22 and 1:50.36 respectively. Mikael Larsson took 24th in the 1,000 free in a time of 9:41.74.

UMSL's 200 medley foursome of Wells, Landon Hanesworth, Kaleb Suitor and Parks finished seventh in the race at 1:29.62.

Thursday's competition at the Deaconess Aquatic Center features the 100-yard butterfly, the 400-yard individual medley and the 200-yard freestyle There will be three preliminary rounds in the morning for the 100 fly, 400 IM and 200 free. Prelim action begins at 10 a.m. with the finals session scheduled to get underway at 5:30 p.m. Thursday's final session also includes the 400-yard medley relay.
