Mara Rieder got the Tritons started with a layup before Quincy hit an eight-point run in the first two minutes of play thanks to their three-point shooting.
Lexi Hanna answered with a three of her own before a Rieder layup sparked a nine-point run by the Tritons to retake the lead at the midpoint of the quarter.

Jaeda Wilson and
Morgan Ramthun found space to drive to the basket. The Tritons rebounding on the defensive end prevented the Hawks from second chances, sending UMSL into the second quarter with a six-point lead.
Despite a quick start for Quincy in the second quarter, Rieder free-throws helped keep the Tritons out in front. Hanna continued to find the three, scoring her second at the 6:37 mark of the quarter off a feed from
Jayden Kuper.
Kuper gave the Tritons a 10-point lead with a layup assisted by Ramthun at the three-minute mark. Free-throw shooting in the final three minutes sent UMSL into the locker room up 35-24 at halftime.
Rieder had an answer for the two Quincy baskets scored in the first five minutes of the third quarter, scoring two layups and a free-throw.
Wilson and
Anna Costa Riera drained threes on back-to-back possessions to extend the Triton lead while the defense limited the Hawks to a single three-point make in the final five minutes of the quarter.
UMSL's stingy defense continued in the fourth quarter, limiting the Hawks to just six-points in the first five minutes. Costa Riera continued to find the basket, as did Wilson, to stretch the Triton lead to as many as 26 points.
Quincy made a late push along with some Triton substitutions but
Mireia Casas made a late layup assisted by
Abby Peterson to restore the 20-point UMSL lead at the end of the game.
