ST. LOUIS —The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team split its doubleheader against Parkside at Incarnate Word Academy in St. Louis on Sunday afternoon. The Tritons are 7-13 on the season while the Rangers are 5-11.
GAME 1: UMSL 4, PARKSIDE 3
All the runs, UMSL needed came in the first inning as it received three walks and
Rylie Buchanan cleared the bases with a grand slam.
Ashley Borowitz gave up three runs in the second but held on for the win, pitching seven innings and striking out seven to improve to 3-5 on the season.

Madison Rozanski each had a hit in the contest for the Tritons.
GAME 2: PARKSIDE 7, UMSL 6
Parkside jumped out to an early lead in the second game with an RBI single that scored an
unearned run in the top of the first.
The Rangers added three more in the third inning. Isabel Aranda singled to score the first before a sacrifice fly brought home the second. A double to left center brought in the third run to make it 4-0 in favor of Parkside.
Phoebe Miller hit a solo home run in the fourth to put UMSL on the board.
A Parkside single up the middle in the fifth inning followed by a Mia Johnson home run in the sixth accounted for the final three Parkside runs.
UMSL responded in the sixth when
Kiley Sullivan singled to left field to bring Rozanski home. With the bases loaded, Pasqualini was hit by a pitch, bringing home
Jamie Widule. An error saw the fourth Triton run score before Buchanan hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring in the fifth run.
Sullivan doubled to left center in the seventh to bring Widule home, cutting the Parkside lead to one. UMSL had the tying run in scoring position but a strikeout ended the contest.
Ashley Ware took the loss, pitching 2.1 innings with one strikeout. Ware is now 2-1 on the season.
The Tritons open Great Lakes Valley Conference play next Saturday with a trip to Kansas City to on Rockhurst in a doubleheader starting at noon at Loyola Park on the Rockhurst campus.
