PERU, Ind. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team won the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference championship on Friday, defeating Missouri S&T, 4-1, in the finals of medal/match play at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Ind.

The No. 2 seed Tritons advanced to the championship match by defeating No. 3 seed Drury, 4-1, this morning in the semifinals, while the No. 1 seed Miners defeated No. 4 seed UIndy, 4-1, in the other semifinal.

The GLVC Championship is the program's fourth overall and first since 2022. UMSL also won in 2015 and 2016 and has MIAA titles in men's golf in 1992 and 1993. All four GLVC titles have been under the direction of head coach Troy Halterman.

The win holds additional significance for the Tritons as it secures the GLVC's automatic postseason bid for the NCAA Tournament. UMSL, which was ranked No. 5 in the most recent NCAA Midwest Regional rankings is now assured of its spot in the tournament field. The NCAA Midwest/Central Regional Tournament will run May 7-9 in Big Rapids, Mich.
