FULTON, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team picked up its second straight win defeating William Woods 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex in Fulton, Mo. The Tritons improve to 8-4 while the Owls drop to 4-9.
UMSL won the opening point of the dual match by taking two of the three doubles contests. Its number one team of
Hannah Tse and
Morgan Lint defeated Charlotte Ready and Samya Sikand 6-0. WWU evened the doubles portion of the dual as its number three team of Chloe Hecker and Bieke Roovers defeated
Anna Favaron and
Lauren Sweeney 6-2. The Tritons won the final doubles contest as
Aleksandra Lopez and
Millie Wileman handed Zara Littlejohn and Kristina Dimitrijevic a 6-2 defeat.
UMSL won three of the first four singles matches to clinch the victory. Tse started it off with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Dimitrijevic. Lopez followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Sikand and Lint knocked off Marion Grassett 6-2, 6-3. Wileman led Hecker 6-4, 5-2 when the match was called.
The Tritons are back in action on Saturday hosting Drury at 1 p.m. at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
