ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team fell to Drury 6-2 in their GLVC tournament elimination game at EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Ill, on Thursday afternoon.
The Panthers (26-28), seeded eighth, opened the scoring in the top of the fourth with a sacrifice bunt that scored the runner on third for an unearned run. A throwing error allowed a second run to score to make it 2-0 before a pop up to
May Pasqualini ended the inning.
The Tritons immediately answered in the bottom of the fourth.

A single to center field saw the first Drury batter reach in the top of the fifth. A throwing error and a fielding error advanced the runner to third where a double to left center scored two runs for Drury to make it 4-2. A single up the middle scored another Drury run, with Jordan Meng coming around to score.
The final run came in the top of the sixth. A passed ball saw Emma Niemczyk reach first, she stole second and then came around to score on a single to the shortstop to make it 6-2 Drury.
UMSL had eighth hits in the contest and was led by Sullivan with three while Pasqualini added two more.
Kenzie Stoltz picked up the loss, going 4.1 innings with five runs on four hits and six strikeouts.
Ashley Ware pitched 1.2 innings in relief giving up one run on two hits while striking out two.
Ashley Borowitz struck out the final three Drury batters in her inning of work.
The Tritons finish their season with a record of 26-26 including 19-9 in GLVC play.
