ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team fell to Drury 6-2 in their GLVC tournament elimination game at EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Ill, on Thursday afternoon.

The Panthers (26-28), seeded eighth, opened the scoring in the top of the fourth with a sacrifice bunt that scored the runner on third for an unearned run. A throwing error allowed a second run to score to make it 2-0 before a pop up to May Pasqualini ended the inning.

The Tritons immediately answered in the bottom of the fourth. Kaytie Kossina reached first on a fielding error before Kiley Sullivan hit a home run to right center to even the score at 2-2

A single to center field saw the first Drury batter reach in the top of the fifth. A throwing error and a fielding error advanced the runner to third where a double to left center scored two runs for Drury to make it 4-2. A single up the middle scored another Drury run, with Jordan Meng coming around to score.

The final run came in the top of the sixth. A passed ball saw Emma Niemczyk reach first, she stole second and then came around to score on a single to the shortstop to make it 6-2 Drury.
