INDIANAPOLIS – The ninth ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team has been selected as the favorites to win the Great Lakes Valley Conference in the leagues preseason coaches' poll that was released on Wednesday. The poll was voted on by the league's 15 head coaches and per league policy coaches were not eligible to vote for their own teams.
The Tritons received 10 of 15 first-place votes and 189 total points. They were picked finish ahead of McKendree and Maryville who garnered one first-place vote apiece and 170 total points each. Drury received three first-place votes and 169 points overall.
The league's 15-teams will compete in a 14-game round robin schedule that begins on September 5 and runs through Oct. 24.
The 2026 GLVC Championship Tournament begins on Nov. 1 at campus sites with the semifinals and finals to be held at the Cooper Sports Complex in Springfield, Mo., Nov. 5 and Nov. 7.
UMSL kicks off its 46th season of intercollegiate play on Thursday, August 27 against Pittsburg State at 10:30 a.m. in Pittsburg, Kan. The Tritons home opener will be next Wednesday (Sept. 2) against Parkside at 1 p.m. at Don Dallas Field.
