ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team was picked ninth in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Preseason Poll that was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tritons slot into the ninth spot in the preseason poll after finishing 10th to end the 2025 campaign. Florida Tech, the defending national champion, earns the top ranking to open the new season. Cal Poly Pomona earned the second spot followed by Franklin Pierce at three and Washburn was fourth. Fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference member Maryville was picked 21st.
Last season, UMSL finished with a 15-5-2 record, earning a share of the GLVC regular season title, won the Midwest Regional title and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinal round.
The Tritons open the 2026 season on the road against Pittsburg State on August 27 at 1 p.m. at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch in Pittsburg, Kan.
