Campbell Cox was the individual medalist with a total score of 207 (68-72-67) at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview at The Meadows at Grand Valley State on Tuesday. As a team the 17th ranked Tritons finished sixth out of 18 teams with a total team score of 880 (299-293-288).
Cox, competing as an individual, entered the final round in a tie for fourth place. He made his run on the back nine posting a score of 32 with birdies on the 12th, 14th and 18th holes. Cox also posted a birdie on the par five fourth hole and didn't have any bogies in his round to win by two shots over Saginaw Valley's Evan Klein. For Cox it is his first collegiate victory.
Ludvig Granlund shot a 70 in his round to finish with a total score of 225 (80-75-70),
Benjamin Berger finished in a tie for 16th with a score of 218 after shooting even par in his final round (75-72-71).
Dani Solavera and
Logan Mayo each posted scores of 223. Solavera had rounds of 74-77-72 while Mayo shot 73-74-76.
Trigg Lindahl finished with a score of 224 (77-72-75).
Nate Warren, competing as an individual, shot a 75 in his round to finish with a final score of 230 (78-77-75).
Grand Valley State won the team title with a total team score of 862 (290-288-284). The Lakes beat Central Oklahoma by seven shots.
UMSL returns to the course next Monday and Tuesday competing at The Pines CC Collegiate Invite in Morgantown, W.V.
