ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its schedule at the SIU Edwardsville Cougar Invite at the SIUE Tennis Courts and Meyer YMCA on Friday and Saturday.
The Tritons were led by
Morgan Lint who went 2-1 in singles play. She defeated Southern Indiana's Antonia Ferrarini 6-2, 6-3 on Friday afternoon. She beat McKendree's Natalie Syrova 6-2, 6-0 in her first match on Saturday.
Aleksandra Lopez picked up a win against McKendree's Teona Andova 6-2, 6-0.
Millie Wileman knocked off McKendree's Sezim Sagynbaeva 6-4, 6-4 and
Alexandra Cedeño beat McKendree's Keira Greefs 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles action, Cedeño and
Giuliana Cunza got a win over Southern Indiana's Enna Krnjic and Rylie Wilkison 6-2.
UMSL returns to the courts on Friday (Sept. 11) competing in the Maryville Invitational at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.
