ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished fifth with a total team score of 895 (299-302-294) at the WinStar Invitational on Tuesday at Winstar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla.
The Tritons were led by
Hillary Currier who shot an even par score of 72 and had an eagle on the par five, 507-yard first hole. Currier finished in a tie for 17th with a 54-hole score of 225 (74-79-72).
Hope Williams and
Sarah Cuney each finished with final round scores of 73. Williams finished 26th overall with a score of 227 (78-76-73) while Cuney was tied for 27th at 228 (75-80-73).
Alaina Ervin finished in a tie with Currier for 17th at 225 (76-73-76),
Mayan Covarrubias shot a 229 (78-74-77) while
Josefin Hansson turned in a score of 239 (74-81-84) and
Brooke Inchiostro, competing as an individual, shot a 240 (81-83-76).
West Texas A&M's Mia Hammerschmid was the individual medalist with a 54-hole total score of 212 (72-70-70). Dallas Baptist won the team championship with a total team score of 868 (290-277-289).
UMSL returns to the course on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 28-29) for the Kansas State Powercat Classic at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan.
